Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) projects have become increasingly more common all over the world. Also, in recent years, we have seen a shift from single to more ambitious ASR projects. Key elements of an ASR project include:
► Harvesting catchments of runoff in urban areas to provide potable rural water supplies.
► Utilizing more economically viable source waters other than storm water for environmentally safe storage
► Appropriately addressing management issues associated with water containing high nutrient loads. |
